What is a digital magazine?

Good question and one we get asked a lot. Over previous years we’ve had a wide range of entry styles including digital versions of print magazines, bespoke digital magazines for tablet and phone, multi-platform magazines and websites (typically which have edited magazine-style content). The DMAs have an open mind to receiving entries, as the style of digital magazine is constantly evolving and changing, so if you're in doubt then email bruce@digitalmagazineawards.com

What formats for digital magazines do you accept?

We accept any digital format (including tablet, mobile, web etc).

My magazine is an iPad/mobile app, will you accept it?

Yes.

Is there a limit to the amount of categories I can enter?

No.

When is the closing date?

30th September 2016

My magazine was published in 2015 - can I still enter?

The judging period is 11th October 2015 - 14th October 2016. If the magazine was published within these dates, it’s eligible. For the Magazine Launch of the Year category, the first issue must have been published within the judging period.

I can’t find a category that suits my magazine. What should I do?

The categories reflect the most popular sectors in the marketplace. But we also acknowledge things are evolving fast. If a genre begins to emerge we reserve the right to create a new category. We would in this case contact you and ask your permission to move your title from one category to another. If in doubt, contact us, and we’ll help you.

You are sponsored by various brands. Does my magazine have to use one of their products/packages?

No. We are an independent awards and no brands, individuals, or publishers have an influence on the judging process. We also ask all judges to declare any conflict of interests during the judging process.
